Portswood site sold for small industrial units
AGENT CB Richard Ellis has sold a 2.86-acre site in Kent Road in Portswood, incorporating a 7,000 sq ft warehouse, 3,800 sq ft office building and 55,000 sq ft of open storage land let to Georgian Hire Limited.
Acting on behalf of a private investor, CBRE sold the site to Lainston Homes which is currently in the process of submitting a planning application for up to 25,000 sq ft of small new industrial units on the site.
These will be available on a leasehold basis.
Russell Clarke of Lainston Homes said: "This was an excellent opportunity for us to purchase a site with development potential. We believe a small unit scheme on site will work extremely well and plan to construct units of between 1200-1800 sq ft."
CB Richard Ellis has also let the main 7,000 sq ft warehouse to Covenant Life Ministries church. A further 2,500 sq ft self contained warehouse has been let to a marine fit-out company.
CB Richard Ellis and Lambert Smith Hampton are currently marketing the office building, which is available on a new flexible length lease.
